Dr. Alireza Ebrahimi

AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Dr. Alireza Ebrahimi is a Professor in the department of Management, Marketing and Information Systems at State University of New York/ College at Old Westbury where he has taught programming for twenty years and served as chair Computer and Information Science from 1993-1995. He received a Chancellor’s Award for Scholarship and Creative Activities in 2006 and Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence in 1993. Dr. Ebrahimi developed a visual language known as VPCL (1989). He has taught at other institutions such as Fordham University, NYU, Polytechnic University of New York, and Nassau Community College. He has also served as ACM lecturer, consultant / trainer to NYNEX and Honeywell. Dr. Ebrahimi received all his three degrees in Computer Science and his graduate study was at NYU and Polytechnic University where he earned his Ph.D. in 1989. Dr. Ebrahimi published his book "C++ Programming Easy Ways" in 2002 that is currently being used as the textbook for his courses. Dr. Ebrahimi is currently the director of the Teaching for Learning Center.
