How to evaluate a given website using 7x2
(c)riteria with 7 (L)ayer depth
Alireza Ebrahimi

Old Westbury, New York 11568 USA

Abstract
Websites are an
important means of communication for every business and institution today. Web
based
presentations are
replacing traditional ways of disseminating information. Thisworkshop
demonstrates
how a webpage can be
evaluated by a developed technique known as 7X2 C's criteria with a 7 layer
depth that are applied
to website ranging from application to development.
This research developed
a technique of web site analysis known
as 7X2 C's
criteria, which are applied to seven separate layers of website application and
development.
The 7x2 (C)ritera consists of
(content/context) (consistency/conciseness) (correctness/creditability)
(completeness/coverage)
(current/continuity) (community/customization)
and (compelling/creativity)
The
7 layers are : Appearance, Search Engine, Html, Script Client Programming,
Database, Security, and
Ethic. This workshop will
evaluate each webpage by giving a numeric or letter
score to 49 combinations
of layers and criteria. However based on the nature of the website a layer
or
criteria may have given
different weight rather than the standard weight.

Does the meta name represent our school ?
Using 7x2 C's with 7 layers is a method to
evaluate a website
You will need a minimum of 3 paragraphs, every
criteria with a layer will be a given a numeric or letter grade.
This assignment is due at the end of class.
The best workshop assignment will be submitted to the World Wide Conference in
Beijing, China.

The examples provided in this paper mostly
focus on the search engine layer in conjunction with 7X2 C’s
analysis; since a correctly and efficiently
operating search engine is crucial to providing accurate and
meaningful information. While this study is not
exhaustive, its findings are suggestive that schools must fully
take into consideration the implications and
responsibilities of commitment to website usage as the primary means of
information transfer.

2) Read the article "Why managers need to be

It is important for every manager to read this
article
3) What is Nanotechnology, how mush is US
government spending on this research, Why is this significant?

Nanotechnology is the understanding and control of matter at dimensions
of roughly 1 to 100 nanometers, where unique phenomena enable novel
applications. Encompassing nanoscale science, engineering and
technology, nanotechnology involves imaging, measuring, modeling, and
manipulating matter at this length scale.
At the nanoscale, the physical, chemical, and biological properties of
materials differ in fundamental and valuable ways from the properties of
individual atoms and molecules or bulk matter. Nanotechnology R&D is
directed toward understanding and creating improved materials, devices,
and systems that exploit these new properties.

One area of nanotechnology R&D is medicine. Medical researchers work at
the micro- and nano-scales to develop new drug delivery methods,
therapeutics and pharmaceuticals. For a bit of perspective, the diameter
of DNA, our genetic material, is in the 2.5 nanometer range, while red
blood cells are approximately 2.5 micrometers. Additional information
about
nanoscale research in medicine is available from the National
Institutes of Health.
A nanometer is one-billionth of a meter; a sheet of paper is about
100,000 nanometers thick. See
The
Scale of Things for a comparative view of the sizes of commonly
known items and nanoscale particles.
from
http://www.nano.gov/html/facts/whatIsNano.html

This is the future of technology. All
countries and institutions spend millions of dollars
According to the NNI, federally supported
nanotechnology research and development in 2005 was $1 billion, and the global
marketplace for goods and services using nanotechnologies will grow to $1
trillion by 2015.

Binary States
Today it is not
necessary to use light bulbs or vacuum tubes to represent the states of on
and off. Other means, such as electrical currents or magnetic fields, are
commonly used to represent these two states, which we call binary states.
You may be wondering why there are two states instead of three or
more? One answer would be that it is easier to
manipulate and work with binary representation. If it were not in the state
of 1, then it would be in the state of 0. You may then ask why use only
zeros and ones instead of other numbers, such as 1, 2, and 3. Well, you can
represent characters that way too, but using zeros and ones makes it much
easier. Some other possible binary state representations can be that if
there is a current or not, magnet or no magnet, light or no light,
hole or no hole. Perhaps future computers can use
biological entities, such as a cell's DNA sequences for binary state
representation. As switches have on and off states, the cell also can have
two active and inactive states under certain circumstances. Now, imagine
millions of microscopic spots (binary states) on a piece of board that can
be grouped to form characters, words, and sentences, which thus comprises
“information”.

Abstract
The International Journal of Applied
Management and Technology, Vol 3, Num 2
There has been a controversial debate over how well
managers need to acquainted with the
area of information technology, especially about what managers need to know
of programming
and understanding of web source code. Information is an indispensable key to
business success
and Information Technology (IT) facilitates the ability of business to use
information to its
advantage. It is the programs (software) that drive technology, the web page
presents the
business enterprise to everyone. In the heart of every business there also
are managers
responsible for keeping the records of performance, and using the records to
promote efficiency,
discipline, and to get the job done. Today’s in-depth involvement of
technology in the
marketplace has created a strong correlation between IT and managers. Over
time, the bond
between a manager and IT is becoming stronger, signaling the need for more
interaction and
understanding of both technical capabilities and business goals on the part
of managers.
This paper posits that managers need to know more about information
technology and
actively participate in the IT decision-making team. Furthermore, it suggests
how managers can
have incrementally to acquire some elementary knowledge of programming
issues, what shows
on the web, what is behind the web (source code), and what is placed on the
server (database). In
a dynamic market where changes are made in nanoseconds. It is rewarding and
may soon become
almost mandatory that a multi-talented manager will have to deal with change,
to add or supervise
addition of pragmatic programming, and web update the web in order to be
competitive. Key to
the process is the increasing communication and interaction between managers
and programmers.
The benefit of understanding the elementary steps of programming and web
technology is that it
will allow a manager to play a larger role in communicating and delegating
responsibility with
confidence, and competence thus leading to cost reduction and better short-
and long-term risk
management.

michael lucatorto runs this lab
network management
this job involves troubleshooting solutions and helping
teachers with any new software.
The Lab is for undergrads in the Business
department. our campus is very modern and its computers and software compare to
other campus that are still running on windows 2000 we will move on to windows.
Each machine runs a duel core processor. (processor has 2 parts) Each machine
has 2 gigs of RAM and 2.2 GHz processor. Most enterprise will change to Vista
after Service Pack 1 or 2, probably by 2011.
this lab runs on a domain (oldwestbury.edu), we use an active
directory
the servers are downstairs HP in computer services (they look
like network switches) (4-5 servers that deal with log in and other operations)
computer operation we run 500 comp in campus don't get to many
updated because we want to shift the responsively to the vendor. so they keep us
updated with the latest computers.
labs are wired there are switch closets all over the campus,
(star) edge switch witch is connected to a central switch which is connected
down in computer services.
All computers are wiped out ( format the
disk) then 1 computer is booted on windows XP service pack 2 BIOS stars every
computer that's what we call running our own image of the software on the
computers making all necessary changes, all administrative properties are
removed and other security save guards. then all computes are shut off and
reboot of a ghost cast CD that runs though the network switch. then all
computers all physically setup. then the image is push out to all the machines (
all IP addresses will show in screen of a lab top that will create the image for
all computers in the network). If done the wrong way computers could be sealed
back to factory label. we use Norton ghost is used to clone the computers
Norton is doing enterprising programs we also use their antivirus.
all computers on campus are administered though a domain so you must log in.
sysprep is use to before you deploy and image to clone the computer this program
will run by itself.
there was a problem with Microsoft visual studio ( this allows
you to sign in to your account on campus from any computer) could cause the need
to run the whole system again.
