        Date                                                 Summary

·        1/25/07:          Today, we’ve discuss the concepts of Web Systems and Electronic Commerce. The basis of Web Systems is the creation or design or your website for the purpose of upload or creating project and assignment applications. Electronic Commerce is use for the purpose of doing online business within a web domain. Our first agenda is to create our web host and making a web page for our course.

·        1/30/07:           Today we’ve discussed an assignment of designing a tutorial website for learning C++. Once the tutorial is developed, it will be promoted and marketed online. The main goal for this project is to make sure that the programming language is taught for beginning programmers for the first time. The core of the project will base on the 7Cs of quality. Next, we’ve discussed the grading process of the class. 35% for Test, 50% on Projects, and 15% for Participation and assignments. All the points that each student must be update into their web host.

·        2/1/07:             In today’s lecture, the class discusses the concepts of different Operating Systems and the different types of servers that we commonly know. Two most common OS systems that are used in the community are Windows and Linux (UNIX). The UNIX system is written in the C programming language. As well as other software systems (ex: Windows). We talked about the foundation of how Linux is setup, and the person, who created Linux, is Linus Torvalds. GNU stands for Gnu’s Not Linux. FrontPage is easy to use. Multiple of colors use the primary colors, Red, Blue, and Yellow.

·        2/6/07:             In today’s class, we edited our web page and got started on researching on the C++ tutorial sites. In my case, I already did a similar project when I took the MIS course. The type of C++ project I did was researching on a specific C++ tutorial site, and analyzes the site in order to get information about the concepts of the C++ programming language. Once the information is found, then I describe on how the language is used and what syntax is commonly use for basic programming. In this tutorial project, I’m going to research on a tutorial site, and use the information to create my own tutorial site.

·        2/8/07:             Today, we discuss what we did in last class, and talked about the concepts of search engines (Ex: Google, Ask.com, Wikipedia, Dogpile, etc...).  This week, the class must generate 10 questions for the mid-term. The sample test is online in the syllabus page of the professor’s webpage.  Prof. Ebrahimi took down points for each person in the class for their contribution towards today’s lecture. Never use underscore line for your domain address because the hyperlink line covers it. I’ve received one point for the missing text box from the 10 commandments of HTML. There steps within the any webpage projects. Any space that shows within a webpage will have slow uploading, and downloading process. NBSP represents the number of spaces within the HTML code.

·        2/13/07:         Today in class, we discuss and developed a C++ program; which the code was located in the C++ Programming Easy Ways book on page 15. Before we type the code, we must first understand the meaning of the code. Question: Every search engine has a loop. If statement is an important component in a loop program.

·        2/15/07:          In today’s lecture, we’ve discuss the concepts and meaning of the 10 commandments of HTML. Each commandment we discuss, we try out the code within the FrontPage program. Any person who describes the any information about the 10 commandments, he/she will receive a point for their effort. Here is something new: <INPUT NAME = Password>: this HTML code will enable a password function.

·        2/20/07:           During class, everybody is working on developing their questions for the quiz on Thursday, Feb 25. Plus, the class tried a C++ program on page 15 in the first volume of the C++ book. WCM means Web Class Management.

·        2/22/07:           Quiz

·        2/27/07:           Today, the class graded each other quizzes.

·        3/8/07:             Today, the professor was discussing the main points of our C++ tutorial. The main points are: 1) The meaning of the tutorial site (who, what, when, where, why); 2) The 7C’s of the tutorial site. 3) The major goal of the site.

·        3/13/07:           In today’s lecture some students participate in presenting their web pages to the class. Whoever volunteers will receive 5 points in the class grade.
