Welcome to Topics in MIS. I am your instructor Dr.A. Ebrahimi. On Tuesday we meet at H208 Graduate Computer Lab. For now, on Thursday we meet in H207. You will be able to access the class notes of today by www.drebrahimi.com/BU4045/012406tm.htm.

I want you to be very comfortable in this class and learn from my instruction, your peers as well as yourself.

I want everyone to have their own web hosting for this class to keep the journals, assignments, tests etc. (ex. www.geocities.com)

This is how to get a geocities web hosting account:

1) You must have a yahoo account. (We will have our own web hosting soon.)

2) You will go to www.geocities.com

3) Sign up for geocities for free.

4) Answer questions and submit

5) Click on manage

6) Click on File Manager and Open File Manager

7) Index file will be your homepage

8) Delete html code.

9) Build your own index file or upload. (If you are using copy and paste your must copy the code and paste it to the new html.)

10) Make your Index.html as your own homepage. (Put the calendar in your page and link from there.)

    Grading Policy

     15% of the grade goes to class work and participation, being a good captain gets 5% of the day (80% of the class work must be covered).

         Every absence is  -4 points. More than four absences will strike you out.

         Every lateness is -2. Every activity is +1 (ex. asking a question).

         You receive a point for the question you ask.
