PAYROLL PROGRAM WITH DATA FILE

Program has input statement and output.

Data is the information that you give to the program.  The program will process the data.  Data is like fuel to the car.  Your vein is a program.  Your system is a program.  Its amazing.  Input is your senses.

Input is through a keyword.  Computer recognizes language.  The major senses that we have is the keyboard and the screen.  Keyboard is for the input.  Screen is for the output.

What is a file?

It's where you store information.

For example your telephone, your student information, on the internet there are data files.    If the information is not there, it says there is no match.   There is no match.  It went through each one of the data files and says not found.  What would be the data file for the payroll program.  One line for each client.

We are working interactively.  The data file is useful so you don't have to re enter it every time.

For example:

Employee ID Hours Worked Hourly Rate
1645 10 9.99
8932 40 20.00
7104 20 15.99
2816 15 50.00
5387 30 6.99

This program on 77 takes in all the information from payroll.cpp.

Database is file manipulation.
