- it translates from English to Spanish, Italian, French, Chinese and does other things.

-Chapter 5 was about Array (Variety - a series of memory next to each other)

- In class we have array of computers, students, races, nationalities.

-"Loop is a friend of Array" - We go through loops to make an array.

-When we have array we have homogeneous and contiguous things or memories

- Chapter 6 was about Functions - Organizing the program/action

- Programming is a function

-What are Hassan's functions? To be a student and study hard, going to class, listening, being involved

- Plan, prepare and go over the material, time everything in order to study for the Final

- In computers when there is a big problem to solve, it is divided into smaller functions to solve it little by little. ("Divide and Conquer Policy")

- An example would be to make a Payroll Program. To design it we would... -

1)We input the hours

2)Compute the gross pay

3)Compute taxes

4)Compute net pay

We can do things without Functions but it becomes very unmanageable.

Functions allow people to work as a team with different goals but the same overall outcome

- Do things slowly, a few minutes a day and also think about it and you will learn it better.

-Professor Ebrahimi is trying to patent his computer language.

getting a copyright will help protect a new idea.

Patent - prevents others form making using, selling or offering to sell or import the claim invention

Copyright - is an exclusive right granted by the government for a limited time to regulate the use of a particular form of the idea, including a wide range of creative work like movies, musical works, sound recording, paintings, photographs

Steps to getting a patent or copyright

1) Keep every step of your invention written or saved somwhere (describe every part)

2) Build and test a prototype

3) Sign and date your entries

4) Have a witness

5) Make sure the inventions qualifies for protection (show the invention works)

6) Need a thorough search to make sure you are not copying

Applying for a Patent is a business decision that cost $2000 you need to file an application and research the market
