Abstract:
Websites are important means of communications today, for colleges and universities. There are errors that are hidden and are very critical. This replaces the older days of using catalogues and telephone calls. This study examines all 20 colleges and universities that have campuses on Long Island. The study focuses on categorized errors on 7 layers such as appearances, search evaluation, security and privacy. Data has been collected and analyzed with a report. This study concludes that many websites are not tested for inaccuracies that need to be given attention. We recommend that there should be some sort of standard testing done based on the identified 7 layers.

| Hamed will
be demo-ing his project today. He's will be demo-ing Suffolk County
Community College. He is demo-ing the second phase of the project. Site URL: http://www3.sunysuffolk.edu/index.asp
Hamed feels like there is too much open space on the website and not enough detail about the school. We've also found that the font sized used is too small for easy viewing. We were forced to use Internet Explorer's tools to enlarge the font and still it wasn't very easy to see. Some of the information listed on the homepage is knowledgeable to a person who is familiar with the campus (i.e. Ammerman & Eastern). There are references to the telephone #'s on the page, yet we were unsure of what they were until we searched and found out that they are campus names. They could have wrote "Ammerman Campus" and or "Eastern Campus". There is a line on their website saying "Contact for Claim Infringement ". We can not determine why this link would be on the college's homepage. We have to take the longest path to determine if the pages are in tact and are correct and complete.
